About Bret

Bret Lee is the founder of Bret Lee Legal Solutions. Bret fights tirelessly to obtain the best possible outcome for his clients. He provides them with well-informed, tailored advice and ensures the protection of their rights throughout their cases.

He represents clients in a wide variety of felony and misdemeanor cases in Virginia and Washington, D.C., ranging from traffic matters such as DUIs and reckless driving to major felony charges such as possession of drugs, conspiracies, assault, fraud, and sexual crimes.

In 2011, Bret became a magna cum laude graduate of the George Mason University School of Law where he was the Managing Editor of the George Mason Law Review and served on the Moot Court Board focusing on national competitions with appellate advocacy.  His undergraduate degree is from the College of William and Mary. He lives in Reston, Virginia, and is a longtime resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is an active volunteer with the Fairfax County Bar Association and contributes to legal aid causes throughout Northern Virginia.

His advocacy has involved extensive appellate brief writing, including cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, and the Virginia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. His litigation approach includes a vigorous motions practice to get early advantages in his clients’ cases before trial, including motions to suppress evidence, motions for bond, motions for discovery, and other motions for relief in federal and state prosecutions.  Before going into private practice, Bret worked as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Chief Judge Watkins in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.

Bret focuses his practice in the courts of Northern Virginia, including Fairfax County, Prince William, Herndon, Vienna, Fairfax City, Alexandria, Arlington, Loudoun, and the U.S. District Court – Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria.  Bret is an active member of the Bar of Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Bret Lee Legal Solutions was founded in 2019 to continue to build on the success Bret has had in his over a decade of experience practicing criminal defense.
